I recently finished Sutton, by J.R. Moehringer.
It's not my usual type of book. It was a "historical fiction" book, written about Willy Sutton, a bank robber from the US in the 1930's and 40's. It was based on a true story, but the author wrote it as a fiction novel. So while most of the facts, details, and events were real, the feelings and emotions of the characters were added in. I read great reviews about this book, but I wasn't really expecting to like it as much as I did. In fact, I knew very little about Sutton. But, the author had a way of writing the characters so that you really felt for them. Keeping in mind it was written about criminals, but I actually felt sorry for the character despite the fact that he was a criminal. The author has a great knack for telling a story.
I give Sutton 4 stars out of 5.
