Out of the mouth of babes

We were babysitting niece #5. She's turning 5 years old next week. We were in the pool swimming. She was showing me how she could hold her breath, and kick real hard, and touch the bottom of the pool. She was doing it over and over again. Here's the conversation we had...

me -- "Don't stay down for too long sweetie. If you drown, your Daddy will kill me."
#5 -- "And Uncle A will kill you too?"
me -- "Yes, probably."
#5 -- "So, only men will kill you if I drown. No women will kill you?"
me -- "No, that's not true. I think your Mommy would probably want to kill me too."
#5 -- "Is that because I was such a beautiful little girl?"

LOL -- it was so cute. The way she said it in the past tense and everything. She's such a cutie!
