I got a phone call yesterday from a long time friend, whom I used to work with. A fellow co-worker of ours passed away last week from a heart attack. He was 66 years old.
It has me thinking a lot about all the people I used to work with at that company. I was there for 13 years, and the people there were like a second family to me.
The company has been bought and sold a number of times...twice before I was let go, and a few times after I left. They have been moved, split up, and re-organized. While some (like myself) were lost in the shuffle, a lot have stayed on. I have kept in touch with a handful of the people there, but have lost touch with so many. I have been thinking about them a lot today.
N is going to try and get everyone together for lunch soon. She was going to try for the week of December 15th. I'm hoping that I will get a chance to see a few of my friends then.
In the meantime, my heart goes out to KL's family. He was a wonderful man, and I'm sure he will be missed.
