small blessings...

Small things really make me happy.
Take for example this morning, when I emerged from the shower, only to hear a city utility truck "beeping" as it backed up the road.
"Is that a salt truck?", I screamed at A.
"YUP!", he yelled back.
I smiled. The snow we got last night (albeit a small dusting of snow), had quickly turned to ice overnight, as the temps dropped well below zero.
We live on a hill. Literally. (I call it "Mount Crumpet"). And, while I do have snow tires, it is difficult to make it up and down the hill in the snow and ice.
So, salt trucks are a good thing in my neighbourhood.

Ok, so I officially love your blog. Mount Crumpet made me smile. I miss english crumpets. I can get my fix of weetabix from Trader Joes. How do you eat yours? The biritsh way is boiling water over it just until its wet but not mush and then a sprinkle of sugar and a dash of milk. Yummy!

Weetabix with milk and a bit of sugar..that's the usual way I eat them. But I will have to try your "British version". Although I usually eat Muffets (Shredded Wheat) that way. Mmmm! Hungry just thinking about it.
