Today, I got a phone call from my boss. The company has let one of our team go. She was the person responsible for fielding calls from the customers, updating the customer data, and entering all the tickets in our system, etc. Kind of the department's assistant. She worked for our department part time, and the marketing department the rest of the time. She didn't actually handle support calls, but helped all of us in our day to day work. If there was something you needed, you went to her.
But, because of the economic slow down, they've let G go now. It's strange though...up until now, I had kind of figured that our company was somewhat safe from the economic situation that is happening. I thought that because we were making money, then they would not be letting anyone go. I guess I was wrong. It does make me wonder what's going to happen in the coming months. Although, my boss did make it clear that my job is safe. At least for the time being.
G...if you are reading this, I will stay in touch! I have your home number :-) And, when I am in Victoria, I will still be calling you to go out for dim sum!
