Ok...it's snowing again. AGAIN! We woke up on New Year's Day to a new dusting of the white fluffy stuff. And today, it's been snowing off an on all day. There has been a lot of talk about the weather. Vancouverites are just not used to this much snow. People are forwarding all kinds of snow jokes through email. Some funny. Some, not so much.
I have my car back now (picked it up yesterday afternoon), so I was out and about today in the stuff. Really glad I have snow tires, although the roads really weren't all that bad. But I was driving around, marvelling at the snow banks in the parking lots. Some are so tall. Like the ones at Safeway this morning. They must have been 10 feet tall!!! I hadn't seen snow banks like that since I was in Milwaukee in February of last year.
So, I got to thinking...even though we are kind of sick of the white stuff, it's supposed to melt soon. The weather forecast says we are going to warm up, and get all kinds of rain. Starting around Sunday night, and into next week. So, why not try and look at the good points of snow. So, here goes...
1) It's pretty to look at. Most people still have their Christmas lights up, and the different colours look very pretty against the white background. Sure is prettier than rain.
2) I get to use my snow tires.
3) ...
Ok...so I couldn't come up with one more reason that I like the snow. And the other 2 reasons are pretty lame. I guess it is time for the white stuff to go. Remind me of that next month when we are getting record rainfall, and everything is all "dreary", K?

fresh snow also makes everything look so clean and peacefull...it even makes all the "dirty" snow banks look clean again. What's really amazing is that it has been snowing since last night and not that much has accumulated...unlike the last couple of dumps. Mom
