I finally completed the following...
It's one of a series of 4 from the magazine, The World of Cross Stitching Issue #151. It's supposed to be influenced by Dutch Delftware pottery, but I love it because it reminds me of Sweden, and Norway, and the time I've spent in both countries.
It was the perfect size for a small white IKEA frame that I have. I have 4 of the frames, and thought that 4 scenes would look great in them. But now, I'm not sure I like the white of the frame, and may decided to paint the frame blue. Or I may create a mat in blue, to give it contrast between the frame and the background.
The stitching was not hard, but it was very detailed. It used 6 different colours of blue, along with white, so you kept having to switch back and forth. And I have to admit, that after awhile, it got kind of boring. Always stitching in blue. So, I might stitch something else before I continue on with part 2, 3 and 4 of the patterns. But, I can't wait until the whole project is completed now.
PS -- I need to practice my french knots! There were a few in this pattern, and even more in the other 3. I'm horrible at french knots...I never can seem to get them to come out. So I will have to practice, practice, practice.
