My job is pretty normal, most days. I get up. I sit down at the computer. I deal with customers, and their issues all day. I log off at 5:00. That's it. But, my employer often throws little snags in there for me, just to keep me on my toes. Today, came one of those snags.
My boss is sick. I'm not sure what's wrong with him, but he's been off work for 2 weeks now. As a result, there are a lot of things falling through the cracks. It was decided that I would step up and fill his shoes for a few weeks while he either gets back on his feet, or someone else is hired for his position. They called today, and asked if I would be willing to do so. Of course, I said yes.
So, off I go. Travelling back and forth to Victoria on a weekly basis again. 3 days a week there...2 days a week here. A lot more ferry rides than I care to think about. And a lot more meals out than I want to count. But, I can't say "No". I just have to deal with it. So, deal with it, I will.
The good side to all of this....all that time that I get to read while on the ferry! I will probably get through all the books I ordered online a few weeks ago (at least I hope to put a dent in them).
The bad side....I have to leave home. I love my home. I love my garden. I love my husband. (not in that order, of course!) But, I don't like being away from home. That part will suck. That, and having to get "dressed up" for work. While working from home, sweat pants, t-shirts, and comfy clothes are the norm. Can't do that while in the office in Victoria.
