Whenever I eat at a restaurant, or order something at a store, I'm usually aware of the point value of the item I'm eating. For those of you who have ever been to Weight Watchers, you will know what points values are. It's an old habit. Actually, a good habit to have. Although, sometimes it doesn't stop me.
For example:
Boston Pizza's Crispy Chicken Pecan Salad. It's a salad. Yes, it has everything but the kitchen sink on it. Everything like Chicken, pecans, cheese, egg, bacon, carrots, tomato, and Ranch dressing. I thought it was slightly high in points values, but I really had no idea. I usually order one, eat half for lunch, and take the rest home for dinner. While in Victoria, it made for a great cheaper option me. Until I logged on to the internet, and looked up the nutritional information online. Whoa!!! 28 points. That's more than a day's worth!! (which doesn't really make sense, because the salad is only 1150 calories, and aren't we supposed to eat 1200 to 1500 calories a day?) Anyways, I don't think I'll be ordering that anymore.
And then, yesterday, I logged on and looked up the nutritional information of my now favourite Cinnamon Scones from Cobb's Bread. A scone (according to Weight Watchers) should be around 3 points. But, according to the nutritional information online, Cobb's Cinnamon scones are 8 points! Crap! 8 points is a lot to have for breakfast! I picked up 4 scones on the weekend, and have 2 left. Should I eat them? mmmmmm? OK! I'm on vacation! Vacation calories don't count, do they?! (I wish!!).
Although, I didn't debate that question for very long. Right now, I'm sitting here munching on a scone and enjoying a big cup of tea, and vowing never to look up any nutritional information online ever again!
