What do you do when you have a craving for a piece of lemon poppy seed loaf from Starbucks, but don't want to go to Starbucks or spend $2.50 on a piece of cake?
You bake your own.
I found a recipe for a lemon poppyseed bundt cake in one of my favourite cookbooks "The Best of The Best of Bridge". I had all the ingredients with the exception of icing sugar, so I picked some of that up, and got busy.
On a side note... did you know that icing sugar can go stale? I didn't realize that. It looked fine, until I tasted it, and it tasted really stale and almost metallic tasting. And it was only a few years old, so I was surprised. But a quick search on Google and I found that I wasn't the only one. It can go stale.
