Typhoons and other storms

We were supposed to get slammed with the remnants of Typhoon Songda yesterday. It was the third storm in a series that was to hit the West Coast this week. We've had a lot of wind and a whole lot of rain the last week or so. This one was supposed to be the worst of it all. But, it fizzled out when it hit land. So, the damaging winds that we were supposed to see, never happened. We still got lots of rain, but this is Vancouver, and we are used to that.
A lot of people were disappointed that the news (and weather reports) got it so wrong. Me? I don't care. I remember last year when we without power for 3 days, and I was not looking forward to the high winds and possible power outages.
