Kashi Dog

Ever since Keena came to stay, she hasn't willingly gobbled down her food. We've tried changing to other brands, encouraging her, yelling at her, hand feeding her, and even putting treats in her bowl. The old adage about a "dog will eat when they are hungry" doesn't seem to apply to her. She was obviously hungry, but wouldn't go near her bowl unless I sat and hand fed her the first couple of bites. Then, if I left the room, she would leave too....leaving her food unfinished.
Meanwhile, I bought a box of Kashi Lean cereal. I love Kashi. But their Lean cereal isn't what I thought it would be. I didn't like it. I was going to throw it out, but thought that I would throw a few sprinkles on the dog's food to see if she would eat it. After all....it's Kashi, so it's got to be good for her.
I wish I had thought about this earlier. She has since gobbled down her food each time I put it down. As long as there is a handful of Kashi on top, the food is gone. Even if I leave the room, the munching continues. Go figure!
