I like New Year's. It's a time to take a good look at your life, and decide what you want to do better. And then, it gives you a mark...a starting point....a point in time to start something new, something different. Problem is, I never can figure out what that something should be.
I have the usual resolutions (lose weight, get more exercise, eat healthier). But I need specific goals for myself. The other problem is that I get obsessive about it, and try to change everything. One year I wrote down 12 resolutions. One for each month. It was a tall order, and it's no wonder I achieved none of them.
This year, I can't think of anything I want to do. Yes, I do want to lose weight, but I don't want that to be my New Year's resolution. It just seems so cliche to me. Anyways, I have the rest of the day to think about it, and I'm sure I'll come up with one thing that I would like to concentrate on this year.
In the meantime, I'm busy at work. You would think that most customers would be on vacation, and not booking support calls. You would be wrong.
Tonight, A and I are going to see a movie. As a kid, his Dad used to take him and his brother to see a movie on New Year's. It's a great way to spend the evening. The theatres are usually quiet, and for us, it's a treat (as we don't usually go to the theatre, but rather rent movies during the rest of the year). Besides, it's a good way to justify having popcorn for dinner :-)
Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone!!
