Three Things Thursday

3 TV shows that got cancelled before their time...

1) Sports Night (Peter Krause, Felicity Huffman) (1998-1999)
Funny and intelligent. I guess there's just not enough people out there who appreciate a show like this. Back in '98, I remember asking people at work if they watched the show. No one had even heard of it. I also remember standing in line at the Safeway, and looking at the cover of the TV Guide magazine. It read, "Sports Night...the best show on TV that no one is watching". It was cancelled shortly after that. Too bad. Apparently, they have released all episodes on DVD this year. And, of course, you can always watch the episodes (or portions of them) on you-tube.

2) Journeyman (Kevin McKidd) (2008)
I started watching this because of Kevin McKidd. He reminds me of Daniel Craig, and it wasn't hard to spend an hour with him each week. So, I watched it for the first few episodes, and then the show's writing and storyline totally sucked me in. There were so many possibilities to the storyline. It was a very interesting concept for a TV show. But, it happened to be one of the casualties of the writer's strike. *sigh*

3) Cheers and Frasier
Ok...sorry...i couldn't really think of a 3rd show to add to the list. So, I cheated and added my two favourite sitcoms. A piece of trivia for you though...did you know?...David Angell was a writer/producer on both Cheers and Frasier. He and his wife were unfortunately on one of the planes that were used in the World Trade Centre attacks on 9/11.

will the similarites never end? Frasier is my favourite sitcom. I watch the reruns every night. One of the best episodes is the one when Niles goes dancing with Daphne and she thinks they are pretending when he announces he loves her.

Oh and I named my jack russell woody after woody in cheers.
