Bad luck?

Friday the 13th. It's supposed to be an unlucky day. But, here's what happened to me today...
1) Payday
2) Bonus cheques were paid out today (while I was expecting a bonus this year, it turned out to be more than I expected!)
3) A $25 Starbuck's card sitting in my wallet....thanks to our mortgage broker who sent us this little gift for referring her services to some friends of ours.
4) A day off of work in lieu of all the OT I've been doing (which means I get to sleep in...AND I get a day off without using any of my vacation time!)
5) Flowers...delivered to my door....for Valentine's Day!
I'm actually thinking that Friday the 13th is a good thing!

Yes, A bought me flowers for Valentine's Day. He bought me a dozen red roses, and a dozen red tulips. When I asked "why tulips too?", he pointed me to the following story he found on the internet...

a Turkish legend may be responsible for the red tulip's symbolism. The story goes that a prince named Farhad was love struck by a maiden named Shirin. When Farhad learned that Shirin had been killed, he was so overcome with grief that he killed himself - riding his horse over the edge of a cliff. It's said that a scarlet tulip sprang up from each droplet of his blood, giving the red tulip the meaning "perfect love."

aaaahhhh!
