Ever notice that the “ones” in H1N1 flu, look kind of like the letter "i"? We have. So now, in our household, H1N1 is now referred to as "hini" (or "hiney") flu.
I've been so sick this week. I’ve got this nasty head cold that just won’t quit. Usually, I only get sick once (maybe twice) a year, and it usually only lasts for 3 or 4 days. Then I’m better, and I get back into life. I attribute it to the fact that I take no prescription medication, very few over the counter medications, and rely on vitamins and natural remedies instead.
This week, when the cold didn’t “go away” after 7 days, and I still woke up feeling stuffed up and sick to my stomach, my neurotic-compulsive-hypochondriac-alter-ego, made an appearance. Or, maybe it was the lack of oxygen from not being able to breathe for 7 days. But, somehow I had convinced myself that I had the hini flu. A furious search on the internet revealed that I only had 2 of the listed symptoms, and the likely-hood of me having the hini flu was small. Thank goodness!
On a side note, I am starting to feel a little better. I can breathe a little better now. My voice has decided to “go”, but hubby says he’s liking the peace and quiet.
