The other place was Roger's Chocolates. mmmmmm!
At 11:00, we checked out of the hotel. Then, we did what everyone HAS to do when they go to Victoria. Go to The Empress for High Tea. Our reservations were for Noon, so we didn't eat breakfast. And, we had about an hour after checking out of the hotel to wait for our reservation. By the time Noon came, I was starving, and really looking forward to it. But, it was wonderful and did not disappoint. It was pricey, but well worth the experience. The room used to be the entrance to the hotel.

The ceilings were very high, and the decorations were distinctly Victorian. I could have spent all day there staring at the ceiling!
We were served strawberries and cream to start.
Then tea was served.
High tea was served with sandwiches, scones and devonshire cream, and an assortment of desserts. It was all really good.

Our favourite was the smoked salmon pinwheel sandwiches. mmmmm!
We both had a wonderful time! (note the pinky finger in the air!!)
After tea, we headed back to the ferry, and headed home. We packed a lot into our 2 days away, but we both had a wonderful time, and really enjoyed the experiences and the food!
