weekend sadness

My girlfriend's husband passed away last week. Although I've met him a number of times, I didn't know him well. I just knew him through my girlfriend. Her and I used to work together. After I left the company, we kept in touch through emails, texts, and phone calls...and got together once in awhile for lunch or to go shopping. I haven't seen much of her the last 6 months or so...she was obviously dealing with her husband's cancer diagnosis. Her husband and her kids are her life. She is devasted by his passing, and I feel so sorry for her.

I hugged my husband a lot this weekend. And called a few friends that I haven't heard from for awhile.
