It had a Tuscan theme, and the Woman's Ministry did a wonderful job decorating and putting on the event. Of course, I don't have any pictures, because I forgot to take my camera! (I have to stop doing that!).
My sister and I went together, and met up with my Mom, my Grandma, and my Sister-in-Law there. 3 generations of woman from our family together. We had juice and tea and coffee. Small sandwiches (with no crusts...how decandent!!). Pieces of french bread smothered with cream cheese and sun-dried tomatoes. And fresh strawberries. For dessert, a plate full of small cream puffs went around the table. There were songs, door prizes, and a fashion show put on by Reitman's.
The main attraction was an inspirational speaker, who calls herself "The Shopping Bag Lady". Her talk was centered around shopping (in particular, shopping bags), and her talk was hilarious. Of course, at the end, the story was summed up in an inspirational message about faith. Not being overly religious myself, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the whole evening. These events can sometimes be a little "preachy", which I don't like. But last night was a good mix.
Although, next time, I'm going to have to bring my camera!
