A science lesson

Today, my brother came for a visit. For some unknown reason, hubby and brother were having a conversation about how they argue with "the wives". I guess my attention was on my little nephew, because I don't recall how this topic came up. But my ears perked up when I heard hubby describe our disagreements as "an immovable object that meets an unstoppable force". OK. Yes, I agree. We both can be slightly pigheaded at times. But, the boys took the conversation to a whole new level debating which one would really win if an immovable object were to meet an unstoppable force. Of course, similarities were made between myself and both items of topic....I can only assume that was hubby's way of trying to determine who would be right in the next argument. If it was determined that I was most like the immovable object, then that would make him the unstoppable force ....and, well then his debate became somewhat one sided.

The conversation was all in fun, of course. But later on in the evening, we were having dinner with Hubby's brother. Knowing that he graduated with a Masters in Quantum Physics...well I took this opportunity to find out just which one of us could use this argument to win future "discussions". However, when I posed the question to brother-in-law, he very calmly and matter-of-factly told us that neither item existed. I don't know if it was his Scientific mind that would not allow him to put aside reality and debate the theories that we had so debated earlier in the day....or if he just knew better than to step into a "domestic" discussion. Either way, his matter-of-fact answer put an end to that conversation tonight.
