when is it?

What season are we in? Is this still Winter, or are we into Spring already?
The bulbs I planted don't seem to know either...


They've been sprouting for a couple of weeks now. Not all of them, just pockets of them. While the weather has been all over the board lately (cold one week, warm another week, back to cold again) it's definitely better here than in other parts of the country. It only gets down to just below freezing at night, and shoots back up to 8 or 10 degrees C during the day. When it's clear and sunny out. When it's raining, it's well above freezing. I guess the bulbs just decided it's time and are going to make an appearance despite the calendar. I just hope it doesn't freeze really bad one week, and kill them off.

Meanwhile, I should be basking in the sunshine and 8 degree weather today, instead of contemplating the weather patterns of late. After all, the rest of the country is still buried under snow and freezing temps. And here we are thinking about Spring and sprouting bulbs!
