sad news in bloggy land

I haven't been blogging for a while, but I have been following my blog list when I get a chance to. Unfortunately, I got some sad news today, when I realized that one of my bloggy friends had lost his battle with cancer yesterday.

I stumbled across his blog about a year ago when researching cancer stuff on the internet (due to Grandma's diagnosis of lung cancer). I found his posts so down to earth and 'realistic' about what he was going through. There was none of the "feel sorry for me, I have cancer" attitude, just a simple matter-of-fact way of telling his readers what he was going through. I was intrigued, and kept re-visiting him.

I never knew him. I left a few comments over the months, but he never replied (he got so many comments from so many people, it's no wonder). But, despite the fact that I never met him, and actually didn't have much in common with him (except for our mutual love of the city we live in), I still feel sad that he is gone.
