I finished another book today. This one was "The Rosie Effect" by Graeme Simsion...
It is the sequel to "The Rosie Project" which I read about a year ago. I never did post a review of that book, but I loved it. And I had high hopes for this one. But, I do have to say, I think the first one was better than the second.
Both were written from the point of view of the male (Don), who happens to have Asperger's Syndrome. Which is kind of a sort of autism. It just means he is really anal about things, lacking in emotional attachment to other humans, and socially inept. It was really interesting to read a book from his point of view. And really scary to realize that I could totally relate to most of the things he did!
Although, I think the first book was better than the second, only because for me it was fresh and new. The second book almost seemed to me as a bit predictable. And once I got used to Don's idiosyncrasies, it was like it took the fun out of discovering who he was. Although the writing and the characters were interesting, and kept me turning the pages. I loved The Rosie Project. I liked The Rosie Effect. It wasn't as good as the first, but I would still recommend it for a relaxing easy read.
I give it 3 stars out of 5.
