When we were waiting for our room yesterday, we stopped at the Bengal Lounge to have lunch... (crab cakes for him, and clam chowder for me)...
...and drinks. I could not decide what to have, so the waitress suggested the Empress 1908.
The menu (if you can't read this) says, "A 'Must Have' when visiting Victoria. Empress 1908 tea infused vodka, fresh lemon juice, lightly sweetened and frothy egg whites"
OMG! It was so good! It tasted like an iced tea martini, and came with the cutest (and yummy) little scones. We actually looked up the recipe online to make it when we are at home.
At breakfast the next morning, I knew exactly what I wanted. The last time I was at the Empress, I had their Peach Stuffed French Toast for breakfast. I was happy to see that they still had it on the menu, although they are taking it off the menu next week! I'm so happy I got to indulge in my obsession one last time... It's brioche bread, stuffed with peaches and mascarpone cheese! Absolutely heavenly!
He had the Belgium Waffles for breakfast, which he says were good, but very sweet...
And then... we were on our way out just to go have a cup of tea somewhere, and hubby decided to book us into the Tea Room for High Tea!
We had been once before, but it was just as fun the second time around!
We ate so much at breakfast and tea, that we didn't even go out for dinner. We just ended up back in the Bengal Lounge drinking Empress 1908s, and had an appetizer!
