So today, in the pouring rain, I drove out to the new Tsawwassen Mills Mall in South Delta.
I didn't really know what to expect, as the mall has been plagued with overcrowding and a parking lot that is a challenge to get in and out of due to traffic. So, I picked the middle of the week, first thing in the morning (it opens at 10:00am) and on a day when it's pouring rain so hard I really just wanted to stay home.
The mall is very large - I don't think I've seen a mall that big since I visited the Galleria Mall in Houston - and has lots and lots of stores. It was really nicely decorated, and had that distinctive West Coast feel that I love. It's a great mall if you want new shoes, because there are a lot of shoe stores. Speaking of shoes... where comfortable ones. The mall is huge! But, besides shoe stores, I couldn't really find anything else that I couldn't get anywhere else.
It was billed as an outlet mall, but there are only a few outlet stores. The rest are all regular stores. There was only one store that sold plus size clothing. And the 2 main stores that brought me there to begin with (Saks off 5th, and DSW) where not as "wonderful" as I had imagined them to be. I didn't end up buying anything in either one.
Overall it's a good mall, but the drive and the parking "horror stories" that I've heard, will keep me from going there too often.
