The Tragically Hip

Yesterday, Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip passed away. Glioblastoma - a type of brain cancer that is difficult to treat and fatal. A friend of the family has it too. She's still with us. For now.
The news all day yesterday (and today) has been about him. Social media, Twitter, Facebook, the News on TV, the talk on the street. All about Gord Downie. I am amazed at the number of posts about this. I don't recall seeing such a reaction to anything else on social media. It has dominated that platforms unlike any other recent celebrity death. And we all knew it was coming. And still, it's all that anyone is talking about.
