Today, it snowed!

Big huge white flakes started falling around 9:30am at work. By 1:00PM, my car was covered in about 2 inches of the heavy wet stuff. I didn't bring anything to work for lunch, so I had to go out. But decided to go home and work from there instead. Mostly to beat the traffic, but also becuase I didn't feel much like eating out. In hind sight, it wasn't such a great idea. The traffic was horrible. I guess a lot of other people had the same idea as I did. It took my twice as long to get home as I normally do. And then when I got home, I realized that we had no power. So much for my great idea of working from home!
I parked my car on the street, I shovelled the driveway and walkway, I lit the gas fireplace and a whole bunch of candles. When hubby got home from work, I made him make me a grilled cheese sandwich on the BBQ as I hadn't eaten all day. The power finally came back on at 7:30PM. Although it was a bit of an inconvenience, it didn't affect me too much. I pretty much did what I would have done most days - except the not working part. But I have to admit, I liked that. It was a nice break.
