sunsets

Vancouver hasn't seen any rain for 2 weeks now. That is highly unusual. The weather has been hot (but not too hot this week), sunny, and dry. Perfect weather.....for forest fires.
There are a number of fires burning in B.C. right now. The closest one is near Lillooet.

The smoke is coming down the valley towards Vancouver. But it's very high in the atmosphere, so, it looks more like high cloud than smoke. And you can't smell it.

But, it really makes for some interesting sunsets. When the sun goes down, the amount of smoke in the atmosphere makes the sky this very orange / red colour. And the sun gets this neat halo effect around it. Absolutely lovely!
