My husband works in the plumbing industry. A result of that, is that we have access to all kinds of kitchen and bathroom items at a discounted rate. So, one would naturally think that our house would be full of steam showers, rain shower heads, claw-foot tubs, and other such indulgences. How wrong you are!!!

While hubby has changed the shower head in the bathroom more times than I can count, and installed a new sink and faucet in the kitchen, I can honestly say that we don't "profit" much from his chosen profession. In fact, it seems that some of our relatives actually have more of these types of items than we do. Not to mention that I actually lived with a pipe sticking out of the wall where the bathtub faucet is supposed to be. It was like that for about 6 months, until I screamed at him for a few weeks, and he finally installed a new one.

You see, he deals with higher-end items. (I used to think a toilet was a toilet. Apparently, I was so wrong!) It would be like working for Mercedes. Yes, you get a discount, but even with the discount, can you really afford a Mercedes for a new car when the old one works just fine? So, we usually wait for "write-offs" or "damaged" goods.....things we get to take home for free! (or at an extremely discounted rate). Here's the latest...

A new sink for my ensuite. We have the sink which will replace the pink cultured marble one I have now (yes, I said pink cultured marble)

But, I have to wait for the faucet to "arrive". Not to mention, a new toilet to replace the pink monstrosity that I currently sit on. (Yes! I said pink toilet.) With white handle (because you can't get pink anymore, and when it broke we had to settle for white.)

Ain't that a beaut??

Anyways, with my luck...new sink, new faucet, new toilet....all this will happen....oh, about 6 to 8 months from now. But, at least it will be at a discount!! :-)
