I haven't blogged for a few days, as I've been busy. I'm all about lists, so here is a list of things that have happened the last couple of days...
- Work has been insane. The boss is out of town, and everyone is pulling double duty lately just to keep things moving. I'm usually so brain dead after the work day, that I can't think straight.
- I'm having problems with my hips and back again. While the pain isn't as bad as it was in Dec and Jan, I'm still having problems. I thought it would go away by now, but I guess I'm going to have to research other alternatives now. (ie: losing weight, strengthening my core muscles, etc.) All things that I need to do anyways, but now it would seem that I have an even bigger excuse to get moving.
- Cleaning! Spring Cleanup is a time, once a year, where you can put out ANYTHING for the garbage men, and they will take it. Well, except paint cans, electronics, and propane tanks (that sort of thing). But they will take furniture, appliances, and any other type of garbage, with no limit on the number of cans of bags (our usual limit is 2 bags a week). So, I have been cleaning. And cleaning. And throwing out all kinds of crap. Our pick up is next week, so I have one weekend left to finish off my cleaning. The house is a mess of piles of stuff right now, but soon, it will all be gone.
- The worst news this week is from Grandma. She's been through a ton of tests, and countless Dr. visits the last few months. Diagnosis - Lung Cancer. Prognosis - it's terminal. Basically, the tumor is inoperable, and radiation and chemotherapy will not increase her quality of life. It's hard to accept, and hard to watch someone grapple with her own mortality. I had a girlfriend who died of cancer about 7 years ago, and I thought that would have prepared me for anything. But, I guess you are never really prepared for any of it.
