A new month

May 1st.
Can you believe it?? May already!!! What happened to February? March? April?!?!?

May Day. A day in which most countries recognize it as Labour Day... about 80 countries do... except for Canada and US. We recognize Labour Day in September.

But, because of the association with Labour Day, apparently there are two Toronto groups, who are part of the Occupy movement, that are calling for workers to call in sick en masse today. Damn!! Why didn't they tell me that sooner?? I took yesterday off of work to go to my doctor (and to take a day off). I could have called in sick today instead. And changed my Dr's appt to today. And not have had to use up a vacation day!!

Oh well. I'm not a huge fan of the occupy movement, so I guess it's not a total loss. :-)
