About the time I was 10, I watched a movie on TV. The movie was "scary" for a 10-year-old, but it wasn't a horror movie. It was "haunting" (that's the only word I can use to describe it). My memory is limited to only a few snippets of information. There was a boy, and a girl on a beach. And a sea turtle. (I'm not sure if I liked this movie because I was so into sea turles, of if this movie started the obsession with sea turtles) Anyways, the boy and girl carved their initials in the sea turtle, and then the girl disappears into the ocean with the turtle. Oh, and the girl had glowing eyes too. And there was this haunting piano music in the background.
Hmmmmmmm. Not much to go on, eh? I've often wondered about the movie. I remember feeling very "touched" by it...or "haunted" might be a better word. I often wondered if I could ever see it again, if I would think it was as wonderful as the first time I watched it. (after all, I was only 10). Over the years, I've tried to find the title, or even the name of the music. I remember a few years later I heard the same piece of music in a Fuji film commercial. But no one else ever seemed to know the name of the music, or seemed to remember the film.
Today, for whatever reason, I decided to search the internet to see what I could find. I was extremely surprised to find this after only a few minutes...
The movie is called THE BERMUDA DEPTHS. This link...

is to a website that details, not only the movie, but the actors, the music, and the whole story! I was flabbergasted. I could not beleive that someone else out there was as touched by this movie as I was.
The other "big" thing for me was the music. From the same website, I find out that it was Antonio Vivaldi's "Largo" from his "Concerto for Lute (Guitar), Two Violins and Basso Continuo in D Major". Which I found on YouTube.

Take a listen. I soon as I heard this, I was transported back to 10 years old, and completely overwhelmed with memories. Amazing how a little piece of music can do that to you.
It simply amazes me that after 30 years, I can find things like this on the internet. And to think that just 10-15 years ago, with no internet, this would not have been possible.

So, now that you know the title of the movie are you going to see it again to see if it still effects you the same way?
I don't know, it's hard to say. I would like to see it again, but I'm afraid that it won't have the same impact, or that the movie will seem "stupid" to me now, which, will kind of ruin the memory. If I can get a copy of it, I probably will see it again.
