Thankful Thursday

I am Thankful this week...
1) that we live near the city, and are not one of the thousands of people who have been evacuated from their homes because of all the forest fires. I don't think I could handle leaving my home, and living in a shelter for days. On a good note, the weather is cooler now, and there is rain in the forecast for the weekend.
2) for a short week. Monday was a holiday, and Tuesday was a day off for me. I've been really busy at work, and it was really nice to start on Wednesday morning, and know that I only had to get through 3 days until it was the weekend again. I'm one of those people that could work 12-15 hours a day, if it meant that I only worked 3 or 4 days a week.
3) for the Applewood Tea Room. It is this quaint little Tea Room/Bakery/Gift store, not far from home. It's a very nice place to vist, and they have a wonderful bakery. During my travels this weekend, I stopped and picked up some fresh scones. I have had one every morning for breakfast with fresh blueberry compote (which I made on the weekend), and a big cup of tea! mmmmm!
