Today is the 9th day of the 9th month of 2009.
So, what should I post about today? How about 9 things that make me smile...
1) Cross-stitch magazines. I've decided that magazines (especially those from the UK) have the best patterns. Especially small ones, which are great for making cards.
2) Scrapbooking supplies. I buy a lot of stuff from Michael's. I use their 40% off coupons, go once a week, and buy one thing (for 40% off). My husband says I could open my open scrapbooking store now, but what he doesn't realize is that you can't have "too many" scrapbooking supplies. You end up using them all...eventually.
3) I love pottery and china patterns of all sorts. I have limited myself to collecting just 3 china patterns, but if I had the money, and the storage space, I would have a different pattern for each day of the week, and mix and match them. I love these blog websites where they do Tablescape Thursdays. (Check out Between Naps on the Porch for more details).
4) Anything to do with sea turtles. I have stuffed ones, porcelain ones, metal ones, books about them, t-shirts with them, and cups with them. It has to be sea-turtles, not regular turtles.
5) Tea. Mainly loose-leaf, high quality tea. I will drink a Tetley, or Red Rose once in awhile, but my day usually starts with a cup of loose leaf tea from a specialty shop. My favourite is a "Lady Grey" blend with lemon grass and orange flavour that I get made for me from a little tea shoppe in North Vancouver.
6) Food. I love good home-cooked meals. I'm not the greatest cook, but I can find my way around a kitchen. I very rarely eat at fast food restaurants (maybe once a month), and almost never eat frozen or pre-packaged meals (except for cereal -- which brings me to the next item on the list...)
7) Cereal. I love cereal. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. I don't like the real sugery ones. Honey Nut Cheerios is my all time favourite. I will often eat cereal with the milk on the side...ie: I eat the cereal dry, but have a glass of milk to wash it down. The cereal stays crunchy that way, and you can eat it more slowly.
8) A good blog post. I love it when I come across a fellow bloggers website, and read a post that has me laughing out loud.
9) Commercials. I love commercials. Especially the ones that make me smile, or touch a chord in me emotionally. My husband calls me "a Marketer's dream", as a good commercial will often make me go out and buy the item.
What are your 9 things that make you smile?
