weekend catchup

Wow! It was a really busy week at work. I thought I would have time this week to catch up on a few things. Nope. We had one of our busiest weeks ever! It was insane. I'm still realing from jumping from one issue to the next to the next without taking a break or being able to catch my breath.
Meanwhile, it snowed in Dallas. (yes, I said "snow" and "Dallas" in the same sentence!). The girls in the Dallas office sent pics....
They got over a foot of snow Thursday night and into Friday morning. Something they are definitely not used to. So, both were looking at spending the weekend at home...snow bound.
In Vancouver, it's been warm and rainy. Not a great way to start the Olympics. Nor is what happened. Yesterday, a luge competitor from Georgia was killed on the track during a practice run. He was only 21 years old. It was sad. It was unexpected. And I feel so sorry for his teammates and his family.
The Opening Ceremonies were held last night. Like 75% of Canadians, I watch the show. And I have to admit...I was impressed. They made orcas swim through the stadium! It was so cool!
The was a little glitch with the lighting of the cauldron at the end, but overall I think the organizers did a great job!
