hummingbird tree

There is a large vine in our garden, and every August, it blooms with these wonderful orangy coloured flowers all over the top of the vine. I posted about this a few years ago here. It usually blooms in late August, but this year, with the hot dry weather, the blooms have come early.

We call this the Hummingbird Tree, because the hummingbirds love it. They fly right past our feeder (even though I changed the water), and fly past all the other flowers in the yard, and spend their time in this tree. Here are a few pics where we tried to capture the little guys. You can click on the pic for a closer view.
