Be careful what you say...

Yesterday...

ME: Hon? Do you think we could get a new washer and dryer this year?
HIM: Yeah, I think we could.
ME: OK.

I actually meant the Year 2013, when I said "this year". He knew that.
After that, the conversation was pretty much forgotten about, and we went about our day. Later that evening, I was reading a book, and he was playing video games. I was doing laundry, and had thought about throwing one more load in before going to bed, but decided I would rather wait until tomorrow. The load in the dryer was almost done, so I'll just read my book, wait for it to finish, and then go fold the clothes, and head off to bed.

DRYER: **SQUEEK**
ME: Hon... what is that noise?
HIM: What noise? Are you hearing noises again?
ME: That noise!
(running towards the dryer as a squeaking noise in the dryer is now getting louder and louder and sounding more like a screach than a squeek).
HIM: mmmmm. Sounds like a bearing or something is going. Uh, that doesn't sound good.
ME: Great! Now what do we do?
HIM: Go get a new dryer. And be careful what you wish for!!

That was last night. This morning we went out to look. We ended up with a high-capacity LG front loading washer with dryer combo. Turns out... now is a REALLY good time to buy a washer/dryer. Everything is on sale!! And the $75 provincial rebate for trading in old appliances for new efficient ones expires on Dec 31st. So, we still qualify. We spent a bit more than I wanted to, but got all the bells and whistles that I wanted at a fantastic price. Mind you... anything we bought would be better then the old set I'm using now. Friday Jan 4th is delivery day, and I can't wait until the weekend!! I'm going to stay home and do laundry all weekend!!
