Picture It Wednesdays

I'm going to rename Wordless Wednesdays, to "Picture it" Wednesdays. Why? Because I can't seem to post a bunch of pics of something without explaining what they are. And that's not exactly "wordless", now is it?
For today's post, I bring you La Borqueria Market in Barcelona.

I loved the place. It was huge, and the sights were incredible. The colours, the smells, the people, the selection of items, it was all so much to take in.
It was a weeknight, and the place was packed.
The fish and seafood was so fresh and looked absolutely delicious.
The place was huge....but you couldn't really tell. It had small little walk ways winding through all the vendors. You think you were at the end, then you would turn the corner, only to find another 20 stalls or so.
The meat/sausage vendor....the smells here were great!! Reminded me of my Grandpa, and his love of garlic sausages...
The nuts and dried fruit vendor....my favourite. The colours were so incredible. Who knew a bunch of dried fruit and nuts could look so wonderful! He also sold a bunch of flavoured oils (see the top shelf). Every oil and flavour combination you could think of.

This market looks amazing! I was in Madrid this past summer, but now I wish we had ventured to Barcelona to see this market. It reminds me of a similar one in Philly (whose name escapes me right now). It's these types of places that really give you a feel or sense of a place.
