It is a type of Northern Flicker. I know 'cause I have seen them around here & of course I googled it.

Actually a Red Shafted Northern Flicker. It's a type of woodpecker. We also just had a Red Headed Pileated Woodpecker in our back yard lately because we had a dead tree. I guess it was eating the bugs in the stump. I love google! You can find out anything!
