Presents come in all shapes and sizes. Some cost a fortune, while others, not so much. You can buy a present, re-gift a present, give away something you already own as a present, or make something by hand and give that away. The key is to get the recipient something you know he/she will like. Today, we were able to give my Dad something that we know he will use, and something that we know he will like, and something that only cost us a few hours of labour to produce. What was it, you ask?
Wood!
That's right. Wood!
This weekend, we spent time on Saturday cutting up the tree branches that landed in our front yard during that freak snow storm this week. Today, we delivered a bunch of the wood to my Dad. He and Mom have a wood stove in the house, so we made sure to cut it up so it would fit in the stove. Dad was happy. We were happy... because e-recycling won't take it (the pieces are too big), and we didn't have to take it to the dump, or try to find another way to get rid of it. So, everything worked out great.
It feels good to give!
