As you may know, I've been having 'issues' at work lately. Part of the problem stems from the fact that we got a new manager in December. He works in the Victoria office, and I work from home. That hasn't been an issue before, until now. It seems that this manager is having a hard time "getting to know me" over the phone and conference calls. He has decided that I need to spend more time in the Victoria office over the next couple of months.
What does that mean to me? It means I need to travel a lot more. Mostly a day here or a day there. But, getting up early to catch a ferry, to go to the office, working all day there, and then leaving to catch a ferry home.... well, it means a 10 to 12 hour day, with about 5 hours of travelling time. And I've been asked to do this every week. I'm not happy about the new arrangements. But, I have a meeting with the higher ups today, so I'm hoping I can negotiate something a little more workable for me.
Meanwhile, I'm off to Victoria today... and hoping to use the travel time to read more books! Yup... the Kobo eReader was the first thing I packed!
