Curling? Really?

8 years ago, I got really sick. I got a cold, which turned into a full blown sinus infection. I was so sick! I was on antibiotics (didn't help), sulpha drugs (made me even sicker), and every known home-made remedy for sinus problems that you could think of. I was sick for over a month, and actually ended up taking a week off of work at one point, to try and get better. That was during the Winter Olympics in 2002 in Salt Lake City. I was sick. The Olympics was the only thing on TV at the time, so I ended up watching a lot of...you guessed it...curling!

Actually, I learned a lot about the sport at that time. The American commentators were not very familiar with the sport, so they reviewed a lot of the rules during the game. Which was great for me. I'd seen curling before, but didn't know all the rules. Or exactly how the scoring worked. But I do now.
On Friday night, we watched the Canadian men eek out a win against the UK. And last night, we watched the Canadian Woman take on China. It was a nail biter! We ended up losing by 1 point in the 11th end. But, up until then, both our men and woman's teams have been undefeated in these Olympics. Now, the men are still undefeated....and the woman are tied for first place (with 5 wins, 1 loss) with Sweden. Go Canada!
Oh, and to Andy Rooney from 60 Minutes who commented on the Winter Olympics last night on his show....Andy, it is obvious that you are not Canadian, or have ever been to Canada. You said you have troubles following the puck in a hockey game?? Cripes...I learned how to do that when I was 3!!
