The end of spring break

For the last two weeks, all the school kids have been on Spring Break. What does that mean to me? No huge traffic jams to and from work! And lots of parking at the office, because all the parents are off of work too!
Tomorrow that all ends. We are back to long commutes, and not getting to park right in front of the office.
Today, I made myself some buttermilk pancakes for breakfast to make myself feel better. They turned out REALLY good!
Meanwhile, one of my favourite movies is now on Netflix.
"Stranger than Fiction" is such a quirky, unusual, and wonderfully acted dark comedy. Not to mention that it was released on my birthday (some years ago). So, I am going to spend the evening playing couch potato and watching the movie.

traffic nightmare

Yesterday was a traffic nightmare kind of day. It started with me watching a road rage incident taking place on the Highway in front of me. A large white truck with a flat deck trailer on the back was weaving in and out of traffic like a madman. As it turns out, he was literally trying to run a blue SUV off of the road. Insane!
The day was riddled with "bad" drivers everywhere I went. From people not knowing how to do a 4-way stop, to others going through red lights, cutting people off, etc. Then there were the multiple accidents and incidents around the city all afternoon. The biggest one was the closure of Nordel way, because a car had lost control and hit a large sign post. Which then fell on the car, crushing the occupant. Here are a few pics of the incident from Twitter...
I drove by the scene at 8:00pm on my way home (I left work late, and stopped to go shopping on the way home), and the sign had been moved, but the car was still there. Although, as I drove by, it was hard to recognize it as a car.
