US President Elect

The US Presidential Election was held on Tues this week. But it's taken until today to get the results. This morning we awoke to find out that Joe Biden will be the new president...

It was a long process filled with accusations of voter fraud, fuelled by the current President Donald Trump. #TrumpMeltdown was trending on Twitter. And Trump's twitter account had more warnings than a package of cigarettes. But today, we watch the acceptance speech by Biden, and new VP Kamala Harris. And even though I'm Canadian, I felt a sense of relief over the results. Maybe the US can get back to a normal life now.

I voted

I voted yesterday.
Then I stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the election results. Unfortunately, I ended up going to bed while the results were still tied between the Liberals and the NDP. It wasn't until this morning that I found out that the Liberals had won. But the win was peppered with comments and discussion about them having a minority government (you need 44 seats for a majority).

I don't know if the recounts and absentee ballots will make any difference. We have to wait until the end of the month to find out. But no matter who you voted for, it's been an interesting couple of days in BC politics, that's for sure.

I, like the rest of the world, was kind of surprised tonight.

The whole thing reminded me of the Quebec Referendum that happened on my 30th birthday. Although, with different results.

Today was the Federal Election in Canada. And we now have a new Prime Minister. And, in the spirit of his campaign, where you can respect the politician, even if you don't agree with his politics...

I found my Kors bag!
I decided to go to Michael Kors in Park Royal (close to work), and the guy at the store called around, and found one in Scarborough Ontario. So, I paid for it through a store transfer credit, and it will be shipped (for free) direct to my home!
I am still holding my breathe though. I don't want to get too excited until I actually have the bag in my hand.

I think I'm getting old...

The CP Rail strike that is on now, negatively affects our business. As it does with a lot of businesses across the country. So, I've been watching the news, listening to talk radio, and asking questions at work to try and understand the issues and the process. Tonight, I find myself watching CPAC on TV to watch our MPs vote on the bill.

Then it dawned on me. I'm watching CPAC??

Now, you have to understand that I'm not a very political person. I vote. And try to understand the bigger issues. But, that's about it. I don't get involved in political debates, nor really talk about political issues. I equate political discussions with something that my parents and grandparents used to do. So, me, watching CPAC??! I must be getting old!
