Major change? I got a new job in 2007 (got hired on full time for a company that I was working for temporarily). I thought it was my dream job. I got to work from home, and after working contract work for so long, it was nice to have a steady paycheque again. So, maybe I'm going to switch jobs again??

Nailed it! That is exactly what we plan to do today. Just hang out, relax, do as little as possible, and just enjoy being with each other.

Opportunity knocking

I've spent the better part of this week (and last weekend) wondering about a job opportunity. It's a posting from a great company, with great pay, and wonderful benefits. But, the job is 40km away from home. Talk about increasing my commute time! If I applied for the job, and accepted, I would spend 2 hours in the car every day just getting to and from work. Remember, I work from home now. So, to say this would be a HUGE adjustment, would be an understatement. So, the question the last few days has been, should I or shouldn't I?

Then Jack Layton died, and reminded me that life is just way too short.

Then I saw a 2011 Luck Forecast, on my favourite local horoscope site. One part of it read,

"At least one big, potentially life-altering opportunity will arrive in employment, client work, sales or another earnings situation. Pounce on any openings at work, seek higher-paying duties. If an opening occurs in a foreign office, or across the country, or across the street to another firm, grab it. This is the luckiest year in a long time to relocate. Any changes you make in your relationships will turn you in a opportunity-laden direction for years to come. You face a huge new future – go forth, embrace it!"

So, I did.
I'm still waiting to hear back. It will likely be weeks before I know anything though. But, I am happier just knowing that I 'tried'. I think I would have regretted letting an opportunity like this knock on the door, and not even had the courage to answer it.

What's your sign?

Did you hear the recent reports that the astrological signs were all in the wrong place, and that instead of 12, there should be 13 signs? I watched that report in disbelief. I am a Scorpio, and I thought I was a true blue Scorpio. Whether I like it or not, the personality traits of a Scorpio have always been bang on to my personality traits. But according to the new alignment, I should be a Libra. Or a Virgo. It wasn't clear, as my birthdate was actually the end of one sign, and the beginning of another. Or on the cusp. I felt like I had been punched. Hearing that I might not be a Scorpio after all, left me feeling like I was told I was celebrating my birthday on the wrong day. And, I am so not a cusp kind of person!

Then, Tim Stephans at Astral Reflections (a local astrologer) posted a note about the new signs... http://www.astralreflections.com/index.html

*whew* That's a load off of my mind!
